2019: THUMA MINA (SEND ME) SCHOOL SHOE CAMPAIGN

Dear Friends,

Based on the kindness of ordinary South Africans, last year we touched in excess of 1500 children and changed their lives forever. Building on the success of our 2017 Mandela Day Shoe Campaign, we are launching our 2018 campaign.

With your support we plan to equal or better our reach in 2018. We will provide socks, shoes, stationery sets and beanies/scarves to disadvantaged learners who go to school either without proper school shoes or use damaged shoes due to their circumstances. A basic school necessity in the form of school shoes is an essential item for any school- going learner.

It is our hope that the provision of school shoes will contribute to creating a more positive experience for these learners whilst at school thereby keeping them interested in learning without feeling marginalised due to their circumstances. This positive spirit will allow them to rise beyond their circumstances in the journey to create a better future for themselves through the power of education.

With your help we can make a difference and change lives forever. Each set of items (shoes, socks and stationary, scarf/beanie) costs approximately R150. Please share this initiative with your family and friends and together let us make a lasting impact.
