Event guidelines

1. 5 min. Networking opportunities before you have to swap to the next person

2. Only people actively networking at the station may be speaking to each other

3. You must move to the next table or person

4. 2 min. Between networking

5. Note Taking is encouraged

6. Community members need to prepare for the event

7. You must have a business cards to swop

8. You do not need to be a business

9. Bystanders may not stand near or behind tables while networking is in progress

10. Be Respectful

11. Know your 15 second introduction

12. Be aware of your body language

13. Encourage and be helpful

14. Follow up the contacts you have received during the meeting

15. Only official representatives of organisations may represent organisations

Magaliesburg Agriculture and Tourism Business Opportunities

General Aims 

• • Be an event where local business people and entrepreneurs can meet each other and share business opportunities and ideas

  • Inform/educate local entrepreneurs about the benefits of insurance as an enabler to entrepreneurs

    • Separate areas for Agriculture and Tourism opportunities –

      • Desks, seats and stationery for each business/government department

      • Timer for networking sessions between entrepreneurs and experts

    • Microphone/sound equipment

    • Bathroom facilities

    • Safe parking

  4. Explanation of procedure for networking

5. Brief Generic discussions regarding:

6. Networking sessions

• • • Speed networking: 5 minute briefings during which entrepreneurs identify their proposed business ideas and experts/local businesses/departments can clarify what next steps need to be taken to realise those proposals 

    • Informal discussions between local business people and other participants
